ROBBERS broke into a Corringham home last week while the occupant was asleep, said Essex Police.

The crooks woke up the victim and assaulted them before stealing wedding rings, a necklace and bank cards.

They then threatened to assault the victim before leaving the property.

The break-in occurred at roughly 4.30am in Thames Haven Road on Wednesday, July 12.

A bank card stolen in the robbery was later used at Lloyds in Corringham to withdraw a three-figure cash sum.

Essex Police urged anybody who was in Thames Haven Road around the time of the offence or at the Lloyds bank in Corringham later that day to contact the force by dialling 101.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
